Developed by Robert Espiau, the training is 2 modules, divided into 2- 8 week courses. Current Religious trauma trainings are based upon Judeo-Christian American models, however in this training, you will learn an effective protocol for working with religious trauma across the spectrum of both eastern and western religious issues.
This training is not pro or anti religion but respectful of the beliefs and signifigance religion plays in different cultures and family structures. This training moves away from the antiquated black and white cult approach to working with religious trauma through a more somatic and mindfulness based approach that focuses on shame reduction and emotional regulation. This approach is based upon Robert Espiau's 35 years of experience working with people across cultures and in various religions.
Robert Espiau is a former priest and spent 6 years as a Buddhist monastic. He has lived in 8 countries and currently works with religious trauma living in both Cambodia and the U.S.
